Royal is going to be a big brother!
This picture was taken today after church- officially 12 weeks and 4 days along. Baby is expected on or around January 6th.
We’re off to Estes Park tomorrow for vacation and we’re so eager to kick back and relax! We have dinner with my parents planned at my favorite Estes restaurant, The Dunraven Inn, and Rob is excited to tour the famous Stanley Hotel. I also hear it’s a great time to see wildflowers. Either way, we need to go pack now.
See you all next week!

Rob and I have lived at our new house now for 10 months, and I still wasn’t content with the setup of our living room. It all started with the burgundy wall that was NOT the right color for me- I just hadn’t gotten around to changing it yet. We bought some antique furniture last year and arranged the pieces, which was fine, but kind of dark and museum-like.
This photo of our living room was taken in November:
Now that it’s fully summer in Colorado (yes, we’re 1-2 months behind the rest of you), I needed a space that was brighter and more invigorating. I bought paint this week and have successfully transformed the living room! Here’s the wall before painting:

With new curtains, rug, and some reorganizing (my plan is to sew a green cover for each of the two decorative pillows on the couch):
Ebenezer appreciates the new rug too:

I like the new spot for these chairs especially:
Rob was unsure about my changing any of the things in the living room, but he was good about letting me do what I thought would work. Upon seeing the final product today, he said, “You’re right- this is much better!”. Success!

I was working on painting a wall in our living room this morning (pictures coming soon) when I heard a rhythmic thumping coming from down the street. I went out on our porch to investigate, and here’s what I saw:
Some of them saw me filming, and I’m sure they were creeped out by the paint-covered stranger videotaping their band. It’s not every day a marching band plays RIGHT in front of your house, though.
