Living Room project

Rob and I have lived at our new house now for 10 months, and I still wasn’t content with the setup of our living room. It all started with the burgundy wall that was NOT the right color for me- I just hadn’t gotten around to changing it yet. We bought some antique furniture last year and arranged the pieces, which was fine, but kind of dark and museum-like.
This photo of our living room was taken in November:
Now that it’s fully summer in Colorado (yes, we’re 1-2 months behind the rest of you), I needed a space that was brighter and more invigorating. I bought paint this week and have successfully transformed the living room! Here’s the wall before painting:

The wall, after one coat of Freshaire’s Ray of Hope paint:
With new curtains, rug, and some reorganizing (my plan is to sew a green cover for each of the two decorative pillows on the couch):
Ebenezer appreciates the new rug too:

I like the new spot for these chairs especially:
Rob was unsure about my changing any of the things in the living room, but he was good about letting me do what I thought would work. Upon seeing the final product today, he said, “You’re right- this is much better!”. Success!

Nice job, sweetie! It looks amazing now. Can’t wait to turn you loose in the kitchen with that paint brush!
It looks great! I’m so glad you changed the curtains, too.
Wow!!!! You ARE the master of comfortable colors!
It looks fantastic, Sorche.
You’ve always had that artistic eye for style. Uh, except that Pepto-Bismal pink bedroom when you were 9!! Your living room looks WONDERFUL-
Sarah, your living room is BEAUTIFUL! What a sweet home!
ADORABLE!! I LOOOOVE the color of the fireplace and love the layout!
