Cool Cucumber

I’m actually 30 weeks right now, but this photo was from last week.  I felt that the belly was dramatically bigger than the last photo I posted.  Some fun highlights of this past week:

• Rob and I went to Glenwood Springs for a 3-day weekend getaway.  So much fun!  We took the Amtrak train from Denver, walked around, hiked, sat in the natural hot springs, and ate lots of good desserts.  It was rather sad to return to the real world.
• 29 week appointment!  Our midwife’s office does a 3D ultrasound for fun, so last Thursday I took the afternoon off and we went and had a nice lunch.  Then we went to our appointment together.  Although we didn’t get any good pictures of our little girl’s face, it was so great to be able to watch her for 20 minutes on the screen.  She seemed to want her foot or her hands in front of her face at all time.  I LOVED getting to see her kick and feeling the kicks at the same time! • Last Saturday, Rob and I went with some friends to a barn dance at their friends’ barn.  Their barn dance is a yearly tradition, complete with a chili dinner, lots of homemade desserts, a bonfire, and best of all- square dancing!  I have fond memories of square dancing with my family at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park during our summer vacations, so I was eager to try it out again.  The hosts had hired a professional square dance caller who taught everyone how to do the steps, which made it all the more fun.

• Lately the pregnancy has seemed to just fly by- every week I say to Rob, “It feels like we just had a weekend, and now here’s another one!”  I am so excited that in just 3 months, we’ll have a baby at our house.

Here, Royal is showing off one of the neat-o Bum Genius cloth diapers that we are currently stocking up on.  As you can see, he is very excited to help out!

Tonight, Rob and I attended our third choir banquet, which was lots of fun.  We forgot to get a photo at the actual event, but we thought that a shot near the fireplace afterward would suffice.  It was also the second banquet in which Rob was a part of the skits for entertainment.  I have some photos of him in a red wig, playing a female flight attendant on an airplane, which I am willing to sell to the highest bidder!
